Last Saturday Conversation for 2017

Weather was an early topic specifically the temperature or the lack there of in certain areas.  Dad was reporting a -1 at his house, the official temperature at the airport was -7. Princeton had a temperature of -17 at the beginning of our conversation.

We talked some of different church rituals between Lutherans and Catholics.

And if the weather holds out, we plan to be in Yankton next Saturday to do an early celebration of Dad's 90th Birthday.

I watched the movie The Postman last night. A futuristic movie where a guy pretends to be a Postal Carrier in a post apocalyptic America, and taking on the evil tyrant of the movie.   

Not any snow reported in Yankton however, enough of a dusting in Princeton to give it a Currier & Ives look (less any horses drawing sleighs)

Recovering from Thanksgiving, and preparing to decorate for Christmas.

I saw a movie this past week that had a Postman as the hero.  The regulations are currently if Postal Carriers are getting killed on their routs, then delivery service would be suspended.

The current weather is very nice for this time of year.

We started out with talk of the weather. Dad's observation was the same as the official weather reporting station.

The Buck's football team lost last night, but all history of the old team's mascot has been eliminated.

The Yankton Bucks won their inaugural game beating Hurron easily.

They are open for input for a replacement of the Yankton Memorial Pool. Dad is not a fan of water, yet he did build a paddle boat back in the day, that had one voyage. 

There was some weather talk but again not much on this subject.

It has been quiet in the neighborhood on Friday nights, but that will change when the school district finishes with the football stadium reconstruction.

The highlight of today's conversation was his visit last night (Friday) with his old childhood neighbor Don VanEpps.  A new story that I didn't hear before about how Dad wrecked Don's bicycle tire when trying to blow it up.

I was calling from the Wright County Swappers Meet. Lots of background noise and bad reception, but touched base with Dad anyway to find out what he had for breakfast.

They had rain yesterday and it is sunny today.  Princeton has a rainy weekend. But not as rainy as Texas with the Hurricane Harvey.

There was a time when there was coffee roasting, beer brewing, and computer usage.
