Had a little difficulty getting connected today, but eventually every thing was working.
It was in the upper 20's in Princeton cloudy and no snow falling this morning, snow is expected this evening. Yankton is in a winter storm warning, with temperatures in the low 30's. Dad was just getting up for the day, so he didn't know about the weather or any news from the P&D.

It was in the 30's in Princeton with a few flakes of snow falling this morning, and in the mid to upper 30's low 40's in Yankton. It was cold in Princeton with a few flakes of snow falling this morning, and in the upper teens low 20's in Yankton. Not a breath of wind in Yankton. They were going to the funeral of Rita Basham. I am assuming that JoAnn would have had a relationship with Rita. I believe Dad had coffee with a Ralph Basham but I am not sure what his relationship was with Rita.

It was cold in Princeton (17 degrees) this morning, and in the upper teens low 20's in Yankton. We reminisced about a fellow from Yankton statement at a restaurant when asked how he liked his eggs his response was "I like them". That was brought up as there is a current commercial on TV where the waitress asks the patron how he likes his coffee and his response is "I like it". The Yankton fellow also allegedly asked for Poached Eggs at this restaurant, and what they served him was Pork Steak.  The fellow was a long time Yankton resident per the story however, of African decent. A miss communication I am assuming.

It was cool in Princeton this morning, but drizzly in Yankton. We talked about how he worked at a Apple factory (fruit not computer). He stood by a conveyor belt and did something with the apples as they came to the end.

It was foggy in Princeton this morning, but pleasant in Yankton. It was mentioned that there will be an execution on Monday at the South Dakota Prison, for a man convicted of killing a prison guard. Minnesota does not have the death penalty.

It started out snowing in Princeton this morning, but pleasant in Yankton. Dad and JoAnn were going to get their Church picture taken today. Dad asked about some face feature that is supposedly visible out around the lake. I am unaware of such a natural landscape that would look like that.

It was a chilly start to the day in both Yankton and Princeton. My old Middle School Principal Lee Kanago had passed away. He mentioned how he saw the Harlem Globe Trotters played in Yankton once when he was a little kid. They played at the High School Auditorium (which was known as the Middle School Auditorium in my day). That was before Yankton Colleges Nash Gym was built or the new High School with its space. With the new larger venues that Yankton has, I doubt that they would bring in the Harlem Globe Trotters again.

Positive start this morning with no technical glitches. It was a sunny in Yankton with official temp of (39) their thermometer had 51, and in Princeton it was cloudy with the official temp at (38).  Eggs and sausages for breakfast. Talked about where was the spot people went to back in the day? State Lake was the answer.

Started out calling on our land line phone (Windstream) and got some I think it was a spanish recorded message. I then switched to the  phone connection that worked last week and had success. It was a cool morning in Yankton (46), and even colder in Princeton (35).  A short story about Dad working for Northwestern Bell. Not many stories about that

Tried a different phone connection today with more success. It was a cool morning in Yankton (50), as well in Princeton (49).  We managed to finally get our planned remodeling/tree project completed this week. I am planning on looking at some work on Sunday, and Dad mentioned how his boss at Northwestern Public Service was impressed with his initiative of straightening the store room.

After resolving some technical issues of dialing Dad again we got connected. 

Interesting discussion about The Neighbor Lady (WNAX 570 radio program) Wynn Speece. Wynn had a husband named Harry and a son named Peter. One day she worked a little blue on her program (probably not intentionally) by stating "Harry's little Peter is getting bigger everyday". Quite scandalous.   

Hobos were a thing back in the day. (I am assuming they were Hobos)

Brother Mike did get the distinction as the #1 Son.

After resolving some technical issues of dialing Dad (the phone company thought I was dialing 605-260-9999) we got connected. 

A kayaking class sponsored by the National Parks Service and the State Game Fish & Parks caught his attention. JoAnn's Granddaughter participated in a kayak race once. 

The Dam is going to increase it output to 60,000 CFI. He heard stories before the Dam that water would get all the way up to 8th street.

His time with Kathy last week must have been something he was thinking he was going there again today. 

Not so much heat in Yankton the next few days.

Dad did remember Heins Dairy of Yankton, there were several dairies.

There is construction in Yankton on the Pine Street bridge, and a Roundabout is being built on Highway 95 by Walmart in Princeton.  It is construction season.

So they say its Spring but you can hardly tell based on the weather.

I reported on the continuing saga of Post Office Delivery issues.

There were Goat Stories which is always fun.

I notified Dad that there are going to be  interruptions with our conversations for the next couple of weeks.

Second week of no technical issues. 

We discussed Easter which is tomorrow. 

We talked about the passing away of Howard Combs. Joyce Combs is a cousin of Dad, but he wasn't sure how he is related. In fact he wasn't sure who Joyce was.

And of course some weather talk a safe conversation subject to have. Yankton was in a wind advisory until early afternoon, but they did not get any snow like we got overnight in Princeton.

After last weeks technical issues with telephone network infrastructure I was able to successfully connect today.

With tomorrow being Palm Sunday it is the beginning of Holy Week.  Dad was thinking that today was Sunday and was going to head off to Church soon.

Some chit chat about former Yankton Police Chief George Ryan, but not much detail emerged.

News headlines from the P&D that caught his eye today was about the closing of the Bonanza Restaurant. I guess we can still go to the Bonanza in St Cloud, MN.

Princeton did get the snow they predicted last Monday and Tuesday. It turned out Yankton also got a bit of snow that slowed things down a bit.

Dad was at the Dentists the other day and like the line in the old Alice Cooper song No More Mr Nice Guy his teeth are ok but his gums gotta go. It sounds like a couple of his fillings need to be replaced which is causing issues with his gums.
