2018-02-24 Conversation With George

Snowfall was an early topic this morning. Yankton was just finishing up this morning, Princeton is expected to get a lot this evening.

Talked about the Teen Canteen, Tylkie (sp?) Pool Hall, and the Round Up Room.  Beansie Anderson loved to go on double dates.

2018-02-17 Conversation With George

An article about Federal Budget cuts and the possibility of the Yankton Prison closing came up several times.

He recalled a time when he and a friend (couldn't recall his name) where at Gurney's and saw some kind of an entertainment show. Wasn't sure why but Dad and his Buddy were the only two there.

The Kiwanis is having a supper tonight, perhaps at the Senior Center.

In the Yankton P&D an article about replacing the Pine Street Bridge (P & D Pine Street Bridge article) this was the bridge that Dad smoked his first cigarette.

When he was in the Army during the Korean Conflict he would receive Cigarettes, and one time he got a six pack of beer. When he got the beer he was all set to partake in the fine beverage when a buddy of his showed up thus having to share his beer with him.

For those of you who are watching the Olympics per Dad the weather in Korea is the same as South Dakota.

2018-02-03 Conversation With George

I managed to gather all our tax documents together to move forward with that process no thanks to the US Post Office.

Yankton still has snow but not the cold temperatures that we in Minnesota are experiencing.

Who was the owner of the popcorn shop (the same side of the street as the post office NOT the one next to the Dakota Theater) he used to give Dad and his buddies credit for the popcorn purchases.
